Contracts Manager

Description

• Prepare programme, method statements and submissions; produce contract programme in collaboration with Estimating.
• Instruct QS to agree major preliminary expenditures, including plant and accommodation.
• Chair start‑up and production meetings, allocating skilled team members with the Regional Director.
• Manage sub‑contract buying schedule with the QS.
• Lead Project Team functions: PEP, risk & commercial success, financials, processes, HSEQS, stakeholder management, administration, design management and close‑out.
• Ensure project team and supply chain have required H&S competencies to meet HSEQS expectations.
• Oversee consultant and subcontractor design, delivering BIM strategy as required.
• Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, including HSE and quality plans.
• Obtain defects list, remediate items and secure Certificate of Making Good Defects.
• Direct QS in preparing loss and expense applications and providing information for the final account.
• Manage and control operating budgets; approve expenditures, appoint or change sub‑contractors and sign off monthly commercial reports.
• Provide end‑to‑end programme management experience with an analytical and methodical approach.

Requirements

• Demonstrate strong articulation, numeracy and commercial awareness.
• Hold good knowledge of Design and Build JCT, NEC3 contracts and BREEAM/LEED standards.
• Possess at least 5 years’ sector experience or 2‑3 projects across various industries.
• Exhibit people, performance management, team‑building and leadership skills.
• Hold professional construction qualification, ideally chartered, and IOSH or equivalent H&S training.
• Have training in planning, temporary works and excavation safety, live‑energy permitting, working at heights, scaffolding, lifting and cranage, and other HSEQS site training.
