Follows all DOT requirements and traffic regulations.
Spreads and dumps gravel efficiently; spots truck into paver and places material as directed.
Conducts daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle, trailer and equipment inspections and completes driver's checklist in Fleetio.
Loads and unloads equipment in a safe manner by always utilizing the help of a second person, and ensures equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
Recognizes mechanical issues as they develop with engine, brakes and electrical systems and takes action when necessary to shut down and secure the machine to avoid additional damage; reports maintenance needed and/or any damage to their Superintendent, Foreman and Shop Foreman.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures; wears required PPE.
Ensures truck is fueled each night.
Responsible for ensuring material is loaded safely and efficiently (ensures not overweight, no debris, etc.) and safely transports to jobsites and/or plants.
Provides materials' tickets to the Foreman daily so Foreman can complete their work.
Maintains a clean truck to include spraying down of trailers when needed and practices good housekeeping on all equipment.

Can follow GPS and get to job sites and to material sources in a timely manner.
All new CDL Driver Hires must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and consent to AA Asphalting reviewing their Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse record.
Ability to travel to various worksites.
Pursuant to the FMCSA, all new CDL Drivers will be subject to the full queries of the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse database to ensure they are not prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions due to prior drug or alcohol violations.
Ability to work weekends and occasional nights.
Must have a CDL Class A.
Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions.
Flagger certification course
Ability to work as part of a team.
Knowledge and ability to use GPS devices.
Practices safe driving skills in all operating conditions (including "4 second rule") following all vehicular safety regulations and consistently using spotters.
