This analyst position will support the Debt Capital Markets team in the marketing, negotiation, and closing of loans for all Tishman Speyer’s U.S. developments, acquisitions, and portfolio refinancing efforts. The individual will provide portfolio and market research to assist the team’s members in executing accretive debt financing terms and will provide ongoing analytical support for deal teams.

  • Supporting team members during the loan marketing, negotiation, and closing process, including through the preparation of financial analyses, internal management updates, lender marketing materials, and offering memorandums.
  • Proactively reviewing existing portfolio loans and upcoming financing pipeline and supporting asset and portfolio management through review of borrower quarterly reporting and loan covenant compliance.
  • Managing lender communications and supporting the diligence process with potential lenders in connection with initial loan marketing and loan closing.
  • Producing internal memoranda and analyses highlighting trends in the commercial financing markets and/or pertaining to Tishman Speyer’s loan portfolio. Providing research support for team members and for presentations to senior management.
  • Keeping abreast of local real estate financing market information on an on-going basis. Regularly reviewing newsletters and publications to remain current and update internal team.

The candidate will directly interact with colleagues throughout the organization and therefore should have strong quantitative and analytical skills, be detail-oriented, articulate and well organized. The candidate must display initiative, good judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks and demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. The ability to think strategically and to present information in a clear and concise manner is critical.

The analyst will provide essential analysis and financial modeling for various debt financing structures for the company’s ground-up development, acquisition, and existing properties. They will also assist in the marketing of commercial real estate financing opportunities directly to prospective lenders. The individual must have strong interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with teammates and external parties. Experience in cash flow analysis and underwriting, financial reports, and marketing materials is essential. Prior experience with commercial loans is preferred. The individual will collaborate with various disciplines of the firm, including Acquisitions, Development, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Leasing, Accounting, Property Management, Equity Capital Markets, and Design & Construction.

  • Strong interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and proactively with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong financial modeling skills including a high degree of proficiency with Excel and Argus.
  • Demonstrated academic success with a bachelor’s degree in areas such as real estate, finance, economics, accounting or other analytical/quantitative fields.
  • 1-3 years of commercial real estate or finance experience
  • Research skills and proficiency with Bloomberg terminal functions is desired.
  • Ability to be a team player and exhibit a positive attitude.
Benefits

The base compensation range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, as well as access to our comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan (with matching contributions), wellness benefits and all other benefits afforded to full-time Tishman Speyer employees. This base range reflects a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skill sets, and/or licensure required of an individual in this particular role. The base range is also specific to members of Tishman Speyer’s New York team, as we’ve considered factors specific to this geography.
