The QA/QC Manager supports all site quality assurance and control activities, acting as a technical specialist in one or more disciplines. This role defines inspection processes, certifies inspectors, and manages the inspection staff, typically holding an Inspector Level II or III certification.
Key duties include assigning staff for inspections and audits, overseeing project‑specific quality documentation, and ensuring records are legible, complete, and traceable. The manager develops and implements QA/QC programs, directs qualified personnel, reviews test controls and results, performs vendor inspections, and conducts internal and subcontractor audits to maintain compliance. Additional responsibilities involve documenting non‑conformances, providing coaching and performance appraisals, facilitating training, leading staff meetings, and collaborating with HR on employment‑law compliance.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or construction‑related fields and have at least six years of relevant experience. Required knowledge includes construction practices, quality assurance—preferably in the nuclear power sector—quality codes and NRC regulations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint/FileNet, and Blue Beam.
Successful candidates demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to interpret technical regulations, write clear reports, and present information effectively. They are proficient with spreadsheets, possess solid mathematical reasoning, can lead and evaluate teams, work collaboratively, and apply assertive, problem‑solving approaches.
