Overview

GIS Analyst for spatial analysis, data management and remote sensing in Perth

Tasks

-Assist on remote sensing projects, from proposal development, through to data acquisition, analysis and reporting. -Building and maintaining internal and external client relationships on allocated projects and new opportunities. -Conduct in-depth spatial and temporal analysis to extract meaningful insights from environmental, remote sensing, and spatial datasets. -Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to integrate geospatial solutions with other environmental projects. -Stay up to date with the latest advancements in spatial data analyses and help contribute to research initiatives. -Collaborate, develop, and maintain field data collection techniques and schemas for field-based teams. -Participation in core spatial tasks such as production of cartographic figures, spatial database management, production and QAQC of spatial data deliverables, and provision of adhoc GIS support to Stantec staff.

What You Bring

-Experience in automation scripting including automated data ingestion using FME. -Genuine interest and passion towards environmental and geospatial science. -Degree in Geographical Information Systems, Environmental Science or similar Tertiary Qualification with experience in GIS and spatial analysis. -Interest and experience in remote sensing applications – specifically machine learning, raster image processing, and spatial statistics. -Programming skills - proficiency in Python or R language. -Professional Memberships -Knowledge and experience across ESRI Software Suite, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and Survey123. -Ability to work across multiple projects/teams simultaneously, maintaining client and staff relationships while delivering work effectively and within time and budget constraints. -Degree in Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science or similar Tertiary Qualification with experience in GIS and spatial analysis. -Strong commercial acumen and ability to seek out new business development opportunities.
