Lead Mechanical Engineer

Description

• Provide guidance to engineers and support suppliers on DFM/DFA and fabrication needs.
• Lead mechanical subsystem development from concept through production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-level integration.
• Develop and validate CFD models for thermal and fluid performance.
• Oversee CAD design, drawings, GD&T, and documentation quality.
• Interpret modeling results and drive design improvements.
• Conduct design trade studies focused on performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Requirements

Experience Required

• Experience with high-performance or safety-critical systems preferred.
• Hands-on testing or prototype build experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills in fast-paced environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Strong CAD skills and familiarity with ASME standards.
• Solid background in CFD and thermal/fluid analysis.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience with ownership of complex systems.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.
• Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and structured release processes.
