Evaluate the completeness and status of delivered equipment.
Define project work scope, monitoring and reporting project progress and communicating with clients.
Perform conceptual and detail design activities including calculations for mechanical systems which include equipment arrangement/layouts as well as sizing and selection of mechanical components related to nuclear steam plants.

Certification in Rotor-dynamic or Vibration Analyses will be considered an asset.

Solid understanding of process systems, mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection, and fundamentals of machine component design.
Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities is an asset.
A minimum of 8 to 10 years of working experience in the design disciplines of EPC companies or OEMs in mechanical design of industrial machines, and/or in equipment engineering with knowledge in steam and gas turbines, condensers, generators, pumps, fans, compressors, motors, valves, etc.; and Supervisory skills with ability to guide, mentor, coach and train junior engineers.
Registered Professional Engineer or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in a Province of Ontario, qualified to seal mechanical engineering documents.
Hands on working knowledge and design experience related to the steam and gas turbines, condensers, heat exchangers, generators, diesel and gas engines, boiler feed water pumps, condenser circulating water pumps, valves and piping, ventilation systems, as applicable to nuclear power stations.
Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA-N285.0, ASME Section-III and section-XI, API 610, API 612, API 613, API 614, API 616, API 617, API 670, API 686, and other nuclear-power-plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems is an asset.
Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering.
Understanding and experience with the rotating equipment sizing calculations, selection, and troubleshooting of issues.
Solid knowledge of lubrication and shaft sealing system.
Knowledge of pressure boundary work including pressure vessel design, analysis, code classification, code class boundary, non-destructive examination and design registration is an asset.
Historical knowledge of CANDU plant relevant equipment and components.
