Manage employee benefits and leave programs, ensuring compliance and employee support.

Tasks

-Lead annual open enrollment, including communications, system updates, and employee support -Coordinate with employees, managers, and healthcare providers to ensure timely documentation and compliance -Train managers on leave protocols and employee support best practices -Partner with legal counsel and HR leadership on complex leave cases -Develop and maintain benefits education materials and FAQs -Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for audits, filings, and internal reviews -Track leave timelines and return-to-work processes, including accommodations and interactive processes -Monitor and audit payroll deductions and benefits billing for accuracy -Administer all types of employee leaves (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, ADA, Workers' Comp, personal, etc.) -Provide clear, compassionate guidance to employees navigating benefits and leave options -Manage day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), wellness) -Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Cal-COBRA) -Stay current on legislative changes and recommend policy updates as needed

What You Bring

-Strong knowledge of California-specific leave laws and multi-state compliance -Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or a an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience -5+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on benefits and leave administration -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills -Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment -High attention to detail and organizational skills -Experience with HRIS and Benefit systems, Ultipro/UKG and PlanSource are a plus -Empathetic communicator with a service-oriented mindset -Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
