Leasing Associate

Description

The Leasing Associate is responsible for showing and leasing apartments to prospective tenants, handling inquiries, and guiding prospects through the application and move‑in process.

Key duties include responding to phone and internet inquiries, scheduling virtual, self‑guided, and in‑person tours, qualifying prospects using lead management software, processing applications with credit checks, and obtaining community manager approval. The associate also shows apartments, closes sales, prepares move‑in paperwork, provides community orientation, maintains the property’s social‑media presence, and resolves resident complaints to promote satisfaction and retention.

• Respond to telephone and online inquiries and schedule tours.
• Qualify prospects using lead management software and assist with applications and deposits.
• Maintain updated availability reports, conduct credit checks, and submit applications for approval.
• Show apartments, obtain signatures, and conduct move‑in orientation.
• Manage the property’s social‑media presence to increase visibility.
• Address resident complaints promptly to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Generate leads, conduct tours, and follow up to close leases.
• Implement marketing strategies within budget to drive traffic.
• Plan and host resident events, including after‑hours functions.
• Complete lease, move‑in, and check‑out paperwork accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with maintenance to resolve service requests promptly.
• Attend weekly and daily goal‑setting meetings.

Requirements

Candidates should have an associate’s degree or equivalent experience (six months to one year), be proficient with Microsoft Office and property‑management software, and possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical requirements include extended periods of sitting, occasional stair climbing, the ability to lift up to 20 lb, and use of mobile devices. The role is primarily office‑based on‑site but may involve occasional outdoor work and exposure to a noisy, open‑plan environment.
