Aviation Security Agent

Description

• Liaise with British Airways Engineering staff, contractors, and airport authorities in a professional manner.
• Conduct ID and vehicle checks in line with airport and company procedures.
• Assist with escorting contractors or visitors within restricted zones when required.
• Undertake regular patrols (foot and vehicle) to maintain a visible security presence and deter unauthorised activity.
• Carry out access control duties, ensuring only authorised personnel and vehicles enter restricted areas.
• Complete clear and accurate incident, patrol, and handover reports.
• Follow all site safety and security regulations, maintaining situational awareness at all times.
• Respond promptly and professionally to all security incidents, alarms, or emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
• This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ensure compliance with all CAA, DfT, and Mitie policies including confidentiality, data protection, and safety standards.
• Monitor CCTV systems and report any suspicious activity or breaches immediately to the Supervisor or Control Room.
• Support aircraft guarding and ensure protection of engineering assets during maintenance periods.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence preferred (for vehicle patrol duties).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Successful applicants must pass a 5-year background check and CTC (Counter Terrorist Check) prior to deployment.
• Preferred SIA Licence (Security Guarding or Door Supervisor essential).
• Flexible to work 12-hour day and night shifts on a rota basis (including weekends and public holidays).
• Computer literate (for reports, incident logging, and CCTV systems).
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Aviation or Airside experience preferred but not essential (training provided).
