The Staff Accountant in Fort Lauderdale supports month‑end closing by reviewing project contracts, validating contract values and profit for the Work‑in‑Progress report, and preparing the monthly consolidated financial package. The role also serves as a primary financial contact for field offices and assists with the annual external audit.
- Manage, track, and reconcile all project contract values, maintaining up‑to‑date documentation.
- Set up and maintain job records in the financial system.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly Work‑in‑Progress report to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability.
- Perform regular reconciliations between reporting tools and the core accounting system, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and conduct comprehensive general ledger account reconciliations.
- Provide guidance to finance support staff and act as the main point of contact for financial inquiries from field offices.
- Support the annual external audit by preparing schedules and supplying required documentation.
- Execute additional accounting tasks and special projects as assigned by management.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
- Prior construction accounting or project‑based environment experience strongly desired.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and experience with data‑analysis software; familiarity with construction ERP systems such as CMiC a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem‑solving ability, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Self‑starter able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
