The Mechanical Engineer works independently to deliver the majority of projects from start to finish, receiving limited assistance from a Senior Engineer or Director. This role involves leading or supporting project production, surveying existing systems, and collaborating on design development.
- Lead or assist with production of projects
- Survey existing systems
- Support development of designs, specifications, system narratives, and layouts for various project sizes
- Prepare deliverables such as calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Design mechanical systems, including heating and cooling load calculations
- Select and layout mechanical equipment (pumps, chillers, fans, boilers)
- Perform construction administration and field investigation, including site inspections and detailed reports
- Ensure drawings and designs comply with company production and design standards
- Keep Project Manager/Sr. Engineer informed of workload, scope changes, or additional services
- Attend project meetings and site visits
- Conduct site walks with clients and partners, perform site surveys, and handle physical tasks such as carrying, climbing ladders, accessing drop ceilings, crawling, bending, and reaching to assess building systems

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or possess equivalent experience, with 5–7 years of relevant professional background. Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and high‑level AutoCAD skills are required, along with comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, design, and building codes. The position also includes physically demanding tasks such as site walks, ladder use, and accessing concealed infrastructure.
