The Water Restoration Technician Assistant supports the lead technician by conducting inspections, setting up drying equipment, and completing demolition and cleaning tasks. Responsibilities also include documenting work with photos and notes to ensure proper insurance reimbursement, as well as communicating progress and any issues to customers and the lead technician.
- Perform water, fire, smoke, and mold remediation, including extraction, pack‑out, removal of non‑salvageable items, cleaning, light construction and demolition.
- Set up and monitor air movers and dehumidifiers.
- Conduct additional cleaning tasks (construction cleaning, odor removal, carpet and upholstery cleaning) as part of mitigation jobs.
- Report equipment malfunctions and customer issues to the supervisor.
- Complete assigned tasks following company processes while maintaining quality control.
- Assist the Water Tech/Lead with work orders, route planning, and ensure proper equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck.
- Ensure equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are handled correctly and report any damage.
- Communicate and resolve customer concerns together with the Water Tech/Lead.
- Capture photos and documentation per company policies for insurance reimbursement.
- Use mobile software to enter job data.
- Follow product label instructions and prioritize activities to meet deadlines.
- Move up to 70 lb frequently by lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling.
- Communicate ideas quickly and act on detailed information.
- Use respirators that properly seal when required.
- Perform detail‑oriented tasks that require good visual acuity.

- Experience in restoration or construction preferred but not required.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
- Preferred certifications: WTR – Water Damage Restoration Technician; ASD – Applied Structural Drying Technician; IICRC – Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification.
- Stand, walk, squat, crawl and crouch for extended periods.
- Work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions, with or without climate control.
