Estimation Manager - Construction

The Estimation Manager – Civil is responsible for managing the preparation and submission of accurate cost estimates and tender documents for civil engineering and construction projects. This role involves analyzing project drawings and specifications, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring that estimates reflect current market conditions. The manager leads a team of estimators and works closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement staff.

• Maintain a database of costs, productivity rates, and supplier/subcontractor pricing.
• Participate in pre-tender meetings and client negotiations as needed.
• Collaborate with project planning and design teams to define construction methods and cost implications.
• Review and approve cost estimates, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender submissions.
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure comprehensive pricing coverage.
• Identify and quantify project risks and prepare contingency budgets.
• Ensure compliance with local construction codes, safety standards, and company policies.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, scope of work, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Develop strategies for improving estimation accuracy and efficiency.
• Lead and manage the estimation team in preparing competitive and technically sound civil project estimates.
• Provide post-tender support during contract negotiations and project startup.

• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tenders with tight deadlines.
• Experience in infrastructure, roads, bridges, or large-scale residential/commercial projects.
• High attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
• 8+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX, AutoCAD, MS Excel).
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, methods, and market rates.
• Professional certifications in estimation or project management are desirable (e.g., PMP, CCP).
• Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard contract formats.
• Proven track record of successful cost estimation for medium to large-scale civil projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Master’s degree is a plus).
