Allocate expenses across multiple ongoing construction projects for accurate job costing.
Enter and maintain accurate financial data using QuickBooks Contractor Edition; organize records for audit readiness.
Identify and recommend improvements to AP systems and workflow efficiency.
Calculate special adjustments (vacation, bonuses, etc.) and ensure accurate pay/deduction processing.
Assist with year-end schedules and GST audits.
Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries.
Reconcile vendor statements, support month-end closing activities, and prepare financial reports.
Work with WCB, including pulling and verifying Clearance Certificates.
Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and maintain positive relationships.
Process bi-weekly payroll, including new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including high-volume invoice processing, coding, and timely payment.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, GST/tax regulations, and internal control practices.

Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with QuickBooks, preferably the construction edition.
Education: Post-secondary certificate or diploma in accounting or business (asset) and/or on CPA track.
