Nationwide planning, design and construction firm creating innovative solutions for natural and built environments.
The position requires experience in sensor or swath calibration and alignment adjustment, preferably using commercial software suites such as Bayesmap StripAlign or TerraSolid, or vendor‑specific tools like Optech LMS and Riegl RiProcess. Candidates should have a strong conceptual understanding of error sources in airborne lidar datasets and be able to visualize translation and orientation errors. Experience with terrestrial, mobile, or UAV lidar dataset alignment, as well as airborne lidar trajectory processing (e.g., Applanix PosPac MMS, Novatel Inertial Explorer), is desirable. A solid grasp of aerial acquisition, GPS ground survey, and bathymetric calibration is also important.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field and have at least two years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing field. Experience in lidar data extraction, swath alignment, processing, and elevation model creation/manipulation is required, along with in‑depth knowledge of ESRI software and Terrascan. Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a valid driver’s license with a good driving record are also required.
