Description

• Serve as leasing agent and property tour expert, mastering Fairlawn’s properties and amenities.
• Show properties, highlight features, and sell them to prospective tenants.
• Review lease applications and verify eligibility documentation.
• Handle daily customer service tasks: guest inquiries, notices, resident communications, showings, tenant screenings, and applications.
• Provide exceptional multi‑channel support (phone, email, text) to maintain positive resident relations.
• Prepare move‑in paperwork, ensure units are ready, conduct inspections, and lead move‑in orientations.
• Maintain rapport with current and prospective tenants.
• Process maintenance requests and follow up to confirm completion.
• Learn and comply with Fair Housing Laws; training provided.
• Quarterly off‑site meetings with managers to celebrate wins and ensure success.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated Leasing and Resident Services Specialist to join the team at Fairlawn. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in customer service, event management, hospitality, or sales who want to learn about real estate. The specialist will collaborate with the management team to deliver top‑notch service and help prospective residents find their perfect home.

• Adapt, roll up sleeves, and assist wherever needed.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, or sales.
• Preferred at least 1 year of office administration or data entry experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to obtain an Illinois Residential Leasing Agent License within one year (Illinois properties only).
• Valid driver’s license with two years driving history and pass MVR requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, AppFolio, Outlook, and quick to learn new software.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, high energy, positive attitude, and alignment with core values.
• Availability to work longer hours and weekends during peak leasing season.
• Physical ability to walk properties, conduct inspections, deliver communications, and show units.
