The engineer will independently perform HVAC and design calculations, conduct technical studies, and prepare plans and specifications for a diverse portfolio that includes commercial, educational, municipal, aviation, and federal projects, applying standard engineering techniques to satisfy client requirements and overseeing the production of design documentation.
- Perform HVAC and design calculations, technical studies, and prepare plans and specifications for various project types.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard design engineering techniques to meet client requirements.
- Oversee and manage design-related activities, authoring project documents.
- Develop detailed design documents, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and calculations.
- Conduct mechanical engineering calculations such as heat load and fan/pump friction loss.
- Model systems in Revit or AutoCAD, or supervise junior staff in modeling.
- Coordinate with clients, project team, and other disciplines to design complete mechanical systems.
- Review vendor submissions for compliance with contract documents.
- Consult with construction personnel on field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling.
- Review and respond to contractor submittals and requests for information.
- Perform site observations and collect field data.
- Assist or lead proposal teams.
- Mentor technical designers.
- Lead tasks and simple project teams in multidisciplinary settings.
- Ensure drawings and specifications meet scope, schedule, cost, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Candidates should hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or a BAE in Architectural Engineering, have at least four years of relevant experience, and be proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Office. A Professional Engineer license or E.I.T. is preferred, along with strong oral and written communication skills and some experience leading small work groups.
