  • Design protection schemes for breaker controls, line relaying, bus relaying, and both internal and external station communications.
  • Utilize Vault and ProjectWise for project documentation to track design modifications and new designs.
  • Create and modify single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC & DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and MicroStation.
  • Mentor less experienced designers.
  • Handle complex projects with minimum supervision.
  • Implement part naming and numbering conventions, and manage file naming and protocols.
  • Create drawings for projects using the latest standards.
  • Coordinate with team members from other departments involved in a design project.
  • Check and validate project drawings and those of peers and subordinates.

  • Four plus years of experience designing schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams, and schematics.
  • Four plus years of electrical design experience using MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer-aided (CAD) design or in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering technology, or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
