  • 4 years maintaining Ipsen and McLaughlin vacuum furnaces in aerospace.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) familiarity for work orders and PM tracking.
  • Technical trade school, apprenticeship, or associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or Mechanical Technology preferred.
  • Skilled in vacuum pump rebuilds, thermocouple calibration, TUS/SAT prep.
  • Documentation accuracy — all repairs and calibrations must meet aerospace audit requirements.
  • Electrical: troubleshooting motors, controls, sensors, relays, PLCs.
  • Vacuum systems: leak detection, valve rebuilds, vacuum pump rebuilds (rotary vane, booster, diffusion, cryo).
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis ability.
  • Comfortable around high voltage, high temperature, and pressurized systems.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in tight/hot environments.
  • Welding/fabrication: basic TIG/MIG for hot zone or fixture repairs (preferred).
  • Comfortable working off-shift or on-call during furnace downtime/repairs.
  • Reading schematics/blueprints and interpreting maintenance manuals.
  • Cross-trained in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation repair
  • EPA Section 608 certification (if working with chillers/refrigerants) is a plus.
  • Familiar with AMS 2750, NADCAP audits, and pyrometry PMs.
  • Mechanical: bearings, seals, hydraulics, pneumatics, fans, pumps, gearboxes.
  • Use of PPE (respirators, face shields, insulated gear).
  • Experience maintaining pyrometry systems and performing temperature uniformity surveys (TUS) and system accuracy tests (SAT) per AMS 2750.
  • Safety training in oxygen/fuel gas handling and high-pressure gas systems.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in aerospace, heat treating, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Preventive Maintenance: following OEM schedules (Ipsen, HeatTech, McLaughlin, Solar, SECO/Warwick, Lindberg, etc.).
  • Communication skills for working with operators, engineers, and QA.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to prioritize urgent breakdowns vs. planned PM.
  • NADCAP heat treat compliance knowledge (AMS 2750).
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, forklift, manlift certifications.
