What you would be doing

Identify and engage Indigenous-owned businesses and technical service providers.
Contribute to the evolution of Indigenous commercial strategies.
Ensure adherence to Indigenous procurement policies and maintain accurate reporting.
Strengthen internal collaboration to expand Indigenous supplier networks
Lead the advancement of WSP’s Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) commitments while actively supporting and progressing the organization’s reconciliation strategy.
Stay current on legislation, funding programs, and best practices relevant to Indigenous procurement and engagement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, legal, risk and regional Indigenous relations teams to align commercial activities with project and corporate goals.
Co-develop procurement strategies that embed Indigenous partnership principles and align with organizational guidelines.
Promote cultural safety and awareness through internal education initiatives that deepen understanding of Indigenous histories and perspectives.
Cultivate meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and government bodies to identify shared risks, opportunities, and solutions.

What you bring

Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Deep understanding of the Indigenous business landscape and procurement models in Canada.
Strong background in contract law, risk management, and negotiation.
Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies, Law, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
Familiarity with procurement processes, regulatory frameworks, and reconciliation action plans
