Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Direct Import customer requirements to include ship mark, 3rd party pre-shipment inspections, booking, documentation, and payment requirements.
Manage third party logistics (3PL) transportation and distribution systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and economical delivery of the organization’s products.
Partner with internal and external legal counsel as appropriate; actively work to minimize any legal exposure.
Investigate root cause for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to last minute configuration, transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished product.
Ensure the organizations Import Manual is regularly maintained and up-to-date.
Manage the organizations compliance with U.S. Customs and C-TPAT regulation; ensure any risk of penalty or assessment is minimized; evaluate compliance and dispute fines as appropriate.
Establish and measure KPI’s; apply statistical methods and drive performance for on-time in-full delivery, shipping, overall product quality, workforce planning requirements, production schedules and forecasts.

Strong proficiency using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Software (WMS) solutions (i.e., SAP).

Five (5) years of international logistics experience in the consumer products industry with progressive responsibility for the transportation and importation of products across international borders.
Good communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and operations.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to continuously do the right thing for the customer.
