What you would be doing

- Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high voltage utility substations
- Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner
- Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices
- Occasional travel will be required
- Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution

- One-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling
- Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently
- Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
- BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option
- Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team
- Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design
- Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship
- Professional Engineering license (PE)
- Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients
- 10+ years experience in utility substation design is preferred
- Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards
