Intelligent Transportation Systems / Transportation Technology Manager

Description

Key duties include mentoring staff, cultivating client partnerships, identifying and pursuing new project opportunities, and representing AECOM in professional organizations. The manager will oversee large, complex ITS projects, produce technical deliverables, and serve in various capacities such as capture manager, project manager, or expert advisor.

• Lead and mentor a high‑performing ITS/Transportation Technology team.
• Develop and maintain client relationships with state transportation leaders.
• Identify new project opportunities and create pursuit strategies.
• Represent AECOM in professional organizations to expand industry presence.
• Manage technical elements of large, complex ITS projects as capture manager, project manager, or expert advisor.
• Produce technical deliverables including plans, specifications, estimates, and reports.
• Support business expansion into Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho as a subject‑matter expert.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic growth, recruiting, and business development.
• Coordinate work assignments across markets to ensure work‑life balance.
• Oversee engineering production activities and make authoritative decisions.
• Resolve disputes and negotiate critical issues with senior management.
• Provide mature judgment on operational challenges and develop engineering standards.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a BA/BS with at least ten years of relevant experience, including two years of leadership, and be U.S. citizens. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s in engineering, 15+ years of experience, a Colorado PE license, and a strong reputation in transportation technology within the mountain states.
