Kiewit - Superintendent - Industrial Construction

• Serve as project representative with client, constructor, subcontractors, and vendors at kick-off meetings, Job walks, project review, and other meetings and correspondence.
• Manage and direct project teams by providing communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals and objectives; ensure project scope or work, schedule and budget are clearly defined and understood.
• Direct project oversight on EPC related projects where the work was self-performed by your current employer at the time. Strong safety and quality committment and record on your projects.
• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
• Manage and oversee the output from the engineering, constructability, procurement, construction and commissioning teams from detail design through commission and start up. (Construction activities could include piping, trenching, excavation, grading, utilities, concrete, or steel work)
• Maintain ongoing communication with client, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client needs within contractual obligations, or adjust project deliverables to meet client and Kiewit needs. Ensure all work products are consistent with industry standards and in accordance with good engineering practice and applicable codes, and in compliance with all pertinent legal codes and requirements, while maintaining the schedule and control of the project.
• Establish project procedures consistent with contractual documents and quality plans for all engineering work; determine and oversee all project controls, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed. Identify and secure necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.

Requirements

• Must be able to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and have a fluent understanding of the NEC.
• Regular, reliable attendance
• Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
• Experience with Data Center construction (or similar hyperscale construction facilities) highly desired
• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
• Work productively and meet deadlines timely
• 10+ years’ experience in the construction industry, with at least 5+ years in a supervisory role, overseeing self-performed construction. Ideal candidates have broad background with industrial projects, and have worked with all disciplines in construction or may be expert in a particular area (electrical/Specialty systems, MEP, Heavy Civil, Structural, concrete, piping, insulation). Experience with electrical/low voltage data highly desired.
• Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance. Must be willing to relocate/and or travel.
