Summer Intern, LGA Maintenance

Description

• Conduct field survey utilizing handheld GPS device for asset management data entry and visualization in ESRI ArcGIS Field Maps
• Assist with updating airport's Snow and Ice Control Plan to support winter weather snow removal activities.
• Assist with other ad hoc priority projects .
• Assist with all aspects of budget preparation and submission for LGA's six (6) Maintenance units; including but not limited to budget entry, participation in individual unit meetings as well as meetings with the Aviation Finance team and General Manager's Office, creation of cost benefits analysis and data visualizations, etc.
• Lead project to develop automated contract tracker that integrates existing software. Survey Maintenance staff for business needs and develop project plan.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc.
• In accordance with Port Authority policy, this position permits interns to work remotely a maximum of one day per week. In person collaboration is essential to how the Port Authority conducts business and regular in-office days or team collaboration days may be required depending on business needs. Some internships may require interns to be fully in-person.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills
• Ability to opt in to the New York State and Local Retirement System
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, ArcGIS, Microsoft Power BI
• Major in Airport Management, Public Policy, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
• Attention to detail and flexibility to manage multiple high-priority, long-term projects simultaneously
• Enrollment at a college or university at the time of the internship
• Familiarity with data visualization
