• Uphold an incident‑and‑injury‑free safety culture.
• Supervise on‑site construction activities and maintain current drawings and specifications.
• Schedule and procure tools, equipment, and materials; train crew on their proper use.
• Coordinate project start‑up and close‑out meetings with the project team.
• Hold trade contractors accountable for schedule adherence and quality while maintaining positive relationships.
• Manage project cost codes, budgets, and production units for assigned scopes.
• Implement and monitor site‑specific quality control plans in line with AP’s quality program.
• Troubleshoot jobsite challenges, document changes, and propose innovative solutions.
• Develop and enforce site‑specific safety plans; lead safety meetings and identify hazards.
• Participate in pre‑construction planning, constructability reviews, and quantity take‑offs.
• Assist in preparing and updating detailed project schedules, including procurement items.
• Establish a punch‑list process aiming for zero punch‑list items at project close‑out.
• Verify subcontractor insurance compliance before site entry.
• Support business development through proposals, client networking, and marketing activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with owners, design teams, and stakeholders throughout the project.

Requirements

Adolfson & Peterson Construction, one of the nation’s top contractors, is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager. The role oversees field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality, and coordination of trade contractors and suppliers on projects typically under $5 million or as a component of larger endeavors. Safety is paramount, and all team members are expected to contribute to an Incident‑and‑Injury‑Free (IIF) culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field + 2+ years experience, or high school diploma + 7+ years directly related experience.
• Proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Primavera P6, Excel, AutoCAD, and Revit.
• Strong understanding of building plans, specifications, value engineering, and life‑cycle costing.
• Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives; OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain.
• Physical ability to climb, lift up to 100 lb, and work in extreme climate conditions.
• Willingness to travel and accept long‑term off‑site assignments.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• High integrity, ethical standards, and strong analytical and precision skills.
• Excellent written, oral, and listening communication abilities.
• Proven capability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building lasting relationships.
