Senior Project Executive

Description

• Assume overall accountability for jobsite safety.
• Assume overall accountability for meeting contract requirements.
• Verify accuracy of project financial forecasts, notice provisions, and billings, and resolve potential claims and deviations.
• Ensure the team creates a project‑specific quality plan aligned with the owner contract and contract documents.
• Ensure the team creates a closeout plan in alignment with the contract documents.
• Provide leadership to motivate the project team(s) and maintain a positive work environment.
• Direct and supervise project administration, superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, unions, etc.
• Assume accountability for subcontracting strategy and the integrity of the buyout process on all projects.
• Negotiate all aspects of contracts, lead risk‑mitigation implementation, and conduct final review of draft contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
• Ensure project compliance with insurance and bonds.
• Manage the design phase of a GMP or design‑build project and lead development of GMP/lump‑sum submissions.
• Oversee schedule planning and execution of multiple projects, manage schedule risks, and provide guidance to prevent erosion.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of local market areas and lead a networking strategy.
• Partner with business development to integrate sales strategies, client capture plans, and account plans; optimize profit levers and gross margin tactics to meet performance targets.
• Lead opportunities to strengthen client, partner, and industry relationships to position Gilbane as the “Builder of Choice.”
• Responsible for career development and coaching of team members.
• Foster a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team members.
• Interpret and translate organizational strategy, ensuring team understanding of their role in achieving strategic goals.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 15+ years of experience leading projects of $50‑100M+ in size.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Leadership and management skills.
• Knowledge of industry‑standard software such as Microsoft Office (preferred).

Salary is determined based on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. For Cleveland, OH the range is $185,000 – $250,000 plus benefits and a retirement program. Gilbane provides a competitive total compensation package that includes health and welfare benefits, a generous profit‑sharing/401(k) plan, and continuous investment in employee education.
