Senior Project Advisor

Description

• Lead day‑to‑day contractor management, design coordination and technical query resolution.
• Collect, update and analyse data for cost, schedule, risk and performance dashboards; proactively manage impacts.
• Produce progress reports, invoice and payment processes, and support project meetings, assurance reviews and governance boards.
• Assist lead Project Manager with verification and validation of financial, BIM, schedule, quality and stakeholder deliverables.
• Liaise with stakeholders, maintain records, manage change control and baseline maintenance.
• Provide support/training to DEO, PMO, regional and client‑side teams on TSP/contractor matters.
• Promote learning‑for‑excellence (LfE), lessons learned and collaboration hubs.
• Ensure project budgets are fiscally and ethically viable, complying with organisational and legislative requirements.
• Influence long‑term strategy development with senior stakeholders to create sustainable business futures.
• Lead and develop the team, fostering networking, innovation and best‑practice sharing across Mace centres of excellence.
• Manage junior team members and provide clerical and technical support.
• Maintain a valid security clearance (or no barriers to obtaining one) and use Microsoft Project.

Requirements

Within our consult business we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in every project. We are supporting a strategic UK client on a £5 bn capital investment programme to transform their infrastructure, seeking NEC4‑ECC accredited Project Managers with pre‑construction and construction experience.

The role requires a professionally qualified individual with at least ten years post‑qualification experience, a construction background, NEC4 accreditation, and membership of a relevant professional body. A valid security clearance and familiarity with Microsoft Project are essential.

• Hold NEC4 ECC accreditation and apply it across RIBA stages 1‑2 project delivery.
• Possess a degree or HND/HNC, membership of CIOB/APM/RICS, and at least 10 years post‑qualification construction experience.
• Experience in large public‑sector organisations, preferably defence or security projects.
