Performs troubleshooting, testing and repairs at the highest level of complexity on electronic equipment, relays, instrumentation and control devices in the laboratory, shop and field.
Maintains and conducts tests on laboratory precision instruments.
Sets up and carries out special tests and investigations of the highest skill in the laboratory and field.
Provides practical assistance to engineers in developing special equipment to be used in testing and maintaining relays, measuring devices and electronic equipment.
As required, assumes technical direction of the laboratory or shop in the absence of supervisor. Acts as technical advisor on all repair and test procedures.
Makes drawings and sketches of test circuits and equipment.
Makes metering recommendations for larger commercial and industrial customers based on guide lines set up by engineers.
Prepares reports, write-ups, sketches, etc., as required in connection with his/her work. May use computer terminal or PC for collecting data associated with assigned work as required.

Five years’ experience in electrical and electronics test work including 2 years as a Lab Technician.
Must have passed the company administered standardized aptitude test (CAST).
Working knowledge of electrical and electronic theory as applied to measuring equipment, instrumentation, relays and revenue meters and a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to troubleshooting and testing techniques.
Must hold a valid driver's license.
Ability to interpret and work from complex electronic circuit diagrams, prints, sketches, manufacturer's manuals, specifications, etc.
Education equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by two years of approved technical education in the electrical field, at least one year of the latter to be in electronics.
