The Senior Onshore Pipeline Engineer will lead pipeline engineering activities through Concept, Front‑End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detail Engineering for oil and gas projects. The role ensures high‑quality, safe, and timely delivery of design deliverables in line with project requirements, international codes and standards, and provides technical leadership and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams.
Key responsibilities include developing and reviewing pipeline design strategies, performing calculations, routing optimization, stress and buckling analysis, and supporting design of crossings, valve stations and insulation. The engineer will review and approve P&IDs, isometrics, routing drawings, material lists and design basis memoranda, while coordinating with process, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical, materials, corrosion, construction, geotechnical, structural and civil teams to resolve technical issues. Additional duties involve managing scope, schedule and budget changes, conducting risk assessments, mentoring junior engineers, interfacing with clients and vendors, ensuring document control, and supporting field execution and as‑built documentation.
Candidates must have a minimum of 10 + years of onshore pipeline engineering experience, including proven expertise in Concept, FEED and Detail Engineering and EPCM work in the oil & gas industry. Prior ADNOC EPC experience and familiarity with ADNOC procedures are highly preferred, as is experience on Iraq field development projects and knowledge of offshore pipeline and subsea engineering.
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (pipeline, mechanical or related) is required; Chartered status or professional registration is a plus. Proficiency with pipeline design software such as AutoPIPE, Caesar II and MathCAD is mandatory, along with strong knowledge of mechanical design, stress analysis, routing optimization, buckling assessment, material selection, corrosion considerations and relevant codes (ASME B31.4, B31.8, API standards).
The role demands high integrity, leadership and the ability to motivate a multicultural team, clear communication and technical writing skills, strong analytical problem‑solving abilities, and effective project and stakeholder management. Adaptability to dynamic project environments and multiple concurrent assignments is essential.
