Project Engineer (Pharma NPI)

Description

The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring all assigned projects are executed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Engineering, who will provide guidance and support to ensure design, equipment, and facility deliverables are consistently met.

• Deliver handover training and coordinate O&M manuals, spare parts lists, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Lead and contribute to process optimisation and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Conduct design reviews and facilitate project meetings across teams and stakeholders.
• Identify and evaluate vendors; complete vendor assessment matrices.
• Ensure compliance with ASME BPE 2019, ISPE guidelines, and relevant industry standards.
• Oversee equipment installation, utility tie-ins, and service integration.
• Participate in scheduled departmental and management meetings as required.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and engineering activities.
• Lead weekly or bi-weekly project review meetings with assigned stakeholders.
• Support technical troubleshooting for product manufacturing and aseptic filling processes.
• Prepare all project documentation, including RCEs, purchase orders, and project plans.
• Manage all equipment documentation requirements.
• Lead the project team through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Safely coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to deliver multiple concurrent projects involving new or upgraded processing equipment.
• Prepare User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new equipment.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a minimum of 5+ years of robust project management experience, capable of simultaneously overseeing and delivering multiple engineering projects within a high-performance pharmaceutical environment. This role involves leading projects related to new product introductions, process improvements, automation, aseptic processing, and the integration of new processing equipment – including facility and utility modifications where required.

• Minimum 5+ years of project engineering and/or project management, with proven capability to manage multiple active projects concurrently in a cleanroom (Class A/B) pharmaceutical environment.
• Third-level qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong technical aptitude with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Strong project management track record with demonstrated delivery against scope, schedule, and budget.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and proven experience coordinating across multiple departments.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the biologics or pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all project stakeholders.
