The Buyer will primarily manage the sourcing strategy for generator‑set components while also handling additional goods and services in line with corporate policies. The role involves supplier relationship management, cost optimization, and ensuring timely material delivery for production.
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to meet cost, availability, and inventory targets
- Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers
- Analyze supplier cost data and benchmark against competitors
- Diagnose recurring quality issues and collaborate with suppliers for continuous improvement
- Lead cross‑functional product teams to resolve issues and drive problem‑solving
- Monitor supplier quality and delivery through ongoing assessments
- Review MRP data to ensure timely procurement of production components
- Provide engineering, sales, and production with supplier delivery and open‑order information
- Maintain accurate part and purchase‑order records
- Resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract disputes assertively
- Communicate with order management, engineering, production, accounting, and quality on part‑related matters
- Manage inventory levels to support efficient production while achieving cost‑saving goals
- Follow safety, environmental, and compliance procedures per company policy
- Promote a culture of compliance and uphold the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct
- Execute special projects as assigned

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and possess at least three years of procurement or supply‑chain experience (or seven years of equivalent experience). Strong negotiation abilities, proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office, and the capacity to travel occasionally are also required.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Materials Management, or Business Finance
- Minimum 3 + years (or 7 + years) experience in procurement, material management, or supply‑chain analysis
- Ability to travel on a limited basis to supplier sites
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of purchasing, warehouse, and inventory control policies
- Expertise in securing optimal vendor terms, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Experience with receiving, quality engineering, inventory, and material flow
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP
- Effective professional communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Capability to manage a commodity globally across multiple MTU locations
- Proven problem‑solving abilities
- Manufacturing and power‑generation background preferred
