What you would be doing

- Leading improvement studies to improve manufacturing efficiencies.
- Planning coordination, installation/commissioning of new kit, equipment, or contractor supervision.
- Training and coaching less experienced staff to improve their autonomy and efficiency.
- Working cross functionally as part of a global GE team to ensure our customers (both external and internal) are satisfied with their experience of dealing with us.
- Primarily, the Lead Engineer for Pressing, Machining, Assembly and Testing Operations within RMR.
- Analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency.
- Leading Capex investment projects- from proposal/cost benefit analysis through to installation and commissioning/handover.
- Driving Kaizen initiatives and tracking their impact/cost savings
- As required, travelling to suppliers or other GE sites to supervise work, lead projects or learn best practices that can be applied to RMR.

- Demonstrated experience leading engineering design and design reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to train shopfloor operators and explain complex engineering processes. Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately across the business up to Senior management level.
- Flexible approach, willing to work extended hours and travel when required.
- A broad knowledge of manufacturing processes, their engineering challenges and best practices.
- An engineer preferably with strong CAD Design skills (preferably Creo/Solidworks) who can quickly model tooling concepts and see them through to a detailed design.
- Excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Methodical worker with focus on attention to detail. Structured in approach and well organised.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation.
- Capability to set and meet aggressive goals. Motivated and driven to continually improve. Driven self-starter who reacts positively to challenges.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
- Demonstrable prior experience in leading Lean initiatives.
- Motivating and influencing change agent.
- The aptitude to work as part of a diverse and multi-disciplined project team, whilst working on multiple projects and delivering to EHS, Quality, Delivery and Cost metrics.
- An experienced Engineer with a strong Rotating machines Background and proven leadership abilities to lead change within our manufacturing organisation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including negotiation, and presentation.
- Outstanding computer literacy and knowledge of design. Computer literate in Word processing, Excel and Power point applications.
