The OHE Journeyman Lineman is tasked with construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and related equipment for electricity distribution. The role works closely with the Line team and supports other department personnel.
- Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution electrical lines.
- Connect, disconnect, install, and remove transformers, regulators, switches, capacitor banks, and other customer devices.
- Route or reroute power lines over, under, or around existing structures.
- Inspect and remove damaged power lines.
- Assist with pole setting, hole digging, and related field operations.
- Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed.
- Train apprentices and crew members on line construction and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment.
- Operate and maintain a bucket truck, including stock management.
- Investigate consumer complaints and repair energized distribution lines.

The position is field‑based and requires frequent bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 lb, and work in extreme weather conditions. It also demands clear vision, precise hand‑eye coordination, and the ability to identify colors.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of lineman experience.
- Journeyman Lineman certification and OSHA 10 certification.
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Preferred: 5+ years lineman experience and OSHA 20 certification.
