Description

• Develop and lead on‑site safety plan with corporate safety.
• Create and manage project controls, risk mitigation, and change‑management processes to meet contract requirements.
• Establish project financial forecasts and monitor changes to stay within contract terms.
• Develop and execute project‑specific quality and closeout plans aligned with contract documents.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise the project team, including superintendents and engineers.
• Train direct reports on processes, procedures, and daily tasks.
• Contribute to subcontracting strategy, write scopes, and ensure buyout integrity.
• Implement contract terms, prepare drafts, agreements, purchase orders, and enforce risk mitigation.
• Manage insurance and bond enrollment, tracking trade‑contractor compliance.
• Provide planning support, estimate bid packages, and assist with GMP preparation.
• Perform constructability and coordination reviews.
• Create CPM schedule and deliver monthly updates.
• Develop local market knowledge and a networking strategy.
• Collaborate with business development to align sales strategies and strengthen client relationships.
• Manage workload and performance of direct reports to meet company standards.
• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and communicate company strategy.

Requirements

Gilbane is seeking a highly technical, strong communicator to serve as the on‑site Project Manager II. In this role you will direct, complete, and oversee the financial outcome of a medium‑sized construction project, working on the job site every day as a key member of the project team.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency with industry‑standard software and Microsoft Office (preferred).

Compensation for this role in Syracuse, NY ranges from $107,500 to $147,900, plus a competitive benefits package, profit‑sharing/401k plan, and ongoing education opportunities.
