The Role
Overview
Leads interior design phases, client interaction, and team coordination for projects.

Tasks
-Aid in the creation of floor plans, elevations, architectural and millwork details, and overall design intent sets for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process and distribution to architects. -Review and redline construction documents, shop drawings, and related submittals -Assists in overall technical design for project -In unusual circumstances may be required to assist with support for field surveys -Manages the work of other Designers -Manages overall design budget -Organizes and conducts client interviews to determine space needs and requirements -Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget -Review of engineering drawings to ensure they comply with design solution -Produces, reviews and finalizes space plans for projects -Directs staff to complete design and technical drawing -Works with technical staff to resolve inconsistencies in drawings -Reviews and produces final cost estimates -Oversees tasks and provide feedback on work product -Reviews design and technical drawing of other more junior designers

We are presently searching for an Architectural Designer/Job Captain for our New York City studio. The Architectural Designer is responsible for leading all design phases for interiors projects, establishes the vision, leads the team, and has extensive client interaction. -5+ years’ experience in corporate or workplace design projects preferred -Extensive presentation and graphic communication -Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills -Expert architecture detailing skills -Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements -Expert sketching and rendering skills -Intermediate MS Office Suite skills -Extensive knowledge of store planning methodology -Proficient with the concepts of furniture layout -Strong Revit Skills -Extensive knowledge of design principles -Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures -Extensive knowledge of detailing and finalizes details on projects -Advanced Revit skills -Affinity Program skills or equivalent -Continues to provide needed information to client on design specifications; good working knowledge of Affinity program tool -Extensive knowledge of contract administration -Extensive verbal and written communication skills -Graduate of architecture school: equivalent experience may be substituted -Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise

Benefits
Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 (based on education, licensing and industry experience)
