Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work. Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
A good academic background with a civil engineering degree and ideally MSc or equivalent.
Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets. Proven geotechnical design experience.
In depth experience in finite element modelling and analysis such as PLAXIS2D/3D.Experienced in general numerical software such as Geostudio, Repute, Wallap etc.
A valid UK driving licence. The office location can be discussed at interview, with a preference for work to be from the Epsom office.
The successful applicant will be a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a degree in civil engineering with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and hold or be close to holding chartered status with the ICE.
Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our geotechnical capability by building on the existing portfolio of our expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.
Chartered status or nearing Chartered status. Proven experience of working in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead geotechnical design teams. Communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
