The intern will develop the end‑to‑end sim‑agent, improve existing agents, create novel agents, and refine the overall workflow. Work will involve Python development of vision‑language (VLM), large‑language (LLM), machine‑learning, and rule‑based agents, as well as integration of simulation tools and thorough testing.
Candidates must be currently enrolled full‑time in a PhD or Master’s program and have mechanical‑engineering background covering design, risk assessment, and simulation validation. Experience with AI‑agent workflows, LLMs (training or fine‑tuning a plus), VLMs (QWEN a plus), machine‑learning techniques, MCP servers, and strong Python skills are required.
Preferred qualifications include familiarity with simulation software such as SolidWorks, ANSYS, or Fusion, knowledge of the Finite Element Method, and experience reading or publishing research papers. Exposure to geometric deep learning, graph neural networks, and broader AI technologies is also valued.
Autodesk’s software powers sustainable buildings, clean vehicles, smart factories, and major entertainment productions. The company’s culture emphasizes belonging, innovation, and making a positive impact, inviting interns to contribute meaningful work that helps build a better world.
The 2026 internship runs for 12 weeks in the United States (mid‑May to early August or mid‑June to early September) and 16 weeks in Canada (early May to late August); all positions are paid. Interns receive mentorship from industry leaders, participate in tech talks, and benefit from Autodesk’s Flexible Workplace model supporting office, remote, or hybrid work preferences.
