HVAC Equipment Commissioning Manager

Description

The Equipment Commissioning Manager (EqCM) supports the Equipment North America (EqNA) organization on startup, warranty, and coordination with all other service needs. The EqCM reports to the Regional Service Manager for the first six months, then moves to the Branch Service Manager, and is accountable to the HVAC Equipment Operations Manager and their organization. The role also coordinates with the Customer Resource Coordinator for equipment field service labor requirements and serves as the single point of contact for service scope within the equipment contract, interfacing directly with the EqNA customer.

• Support EqNA sales during project estimate by specifying service type based on project scope.
• Provide custom quotes for service items outside PCAT policy.
• Verify branch has trained technicians for secured contracts and coordinate training with the Truck Based Service Manager.
• Attend RTO meetings on complex projects or those with Planned Service Agreements to identify service or warranty concerns.
• Validate PSA details with SAE/Agent Project Owner and supply required documentation.
• Conduct weekly service turnover meetings with SAEs and Branch Operations Manager to coordinate and monitor service scopes and report status.
• Introduce Connected Service capabilities to customers.
• Coordinate directly with EqNA customers for scheduled work and schedule changes.
• Work with CRC and SAE to ensure asset records are created in NxGen and assigned correctly.
• Communicate delivery details with CRC, technicians, SAE, and customer for FOB Destination.
• Verify warranty information in Warranty Navigator and resolve discrepancies with SAE and Warranty Admin.
• Monitor Long‑Term Storage requirements and coordinate with SAE and customer.
• Promote use of Pronto Forms for pre‑startup checklists, inspections, and warranty work.
• Ensure startup completion, resolve issues, and provide startup documentation to customers.
• Enter startup dates in NxGen and register equipment in Warranty Navigator; provide warranty certification to customers.
• Ensure service requests are invoiced promptly after scope completion.
• Act as first point of contact for warranty requests, dispatch technicians, and file claims with CRC and Warranty Service Coordinator.
• Escalate and resolve issues affecting warranty work, including parts and resources, and collaborate with technical support to accelerate cash collections.
• Facilitate technical support for EqNA customers as needed.

Requirements

Required qualifications include ten or more years of industry experience or a technical engineering or construction degree, proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Writer, and Windows, strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and in teams, conflict resolution abilities, and demonstrated capability to manage numerous projects with attention to detail. Preferred qualifications are a BA in engineering or construction, HVAC equipment knowledge, and advanced MS Office proficiency.

• 10+ years of industry experience or a technical engineering/construction degree.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Writer, and Windows OS.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities.
• Good conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to positively represent Johnson Controls and communicate at varying technical levels.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with professionalism and attention to detail.
• BA degree in Engineering or Construction (preferred).
• HVAC equipment knowledge (preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (preferred).

The hiring salary range is $89,000–$131,000, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data, and includes a competitive benefits package.
