Concrete Operator I

Description

The primary responsibility of the Concrete Operator I is to follow established protocols to perform manual tasks that produce concrete pads and related products. The role must meet production standards for volume, cost, scrap, and quality, including loading materials, handling raw and finished goods, operating vibrators, foam routers, striking/troweling, demolding, and performing scrape/patch duties. Additional duties may involve waste collection and disposal per company guidelines.

The position works closely with hourly production team members and management in a manufacturing environment that can be loud, dusty, and subject to extreme temperatures. The work site requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions, with occasional typing, driving, walking, and sitting.

• Prepare concrete mixes per line specifications, ensuring correct ingredient ratios.
• Coat molds, secure foam with pins, and insert rebars as required.
• Use vacuum cups to extract, flip, and palletize concrete pads on the conveyor line.
• Perform quality control, removing defective pads and repairing minor cracks by scraping, filling, and smoothing.
• Trowel surfaces, affix labels, and wrap finished products for inventory.
• Cut foam to specifications using machinery.
• Keep work area organized and free of safety hazards.
• Assist controller with strike‑off tasks, ensuring proper mud fill and clean corners using a trowel.
• Vibrate concrete pads, spread concrete, position rebar, and add foam at subsequent stations.
• Insert bolts, clips, and other inserts when removing pads from molds.
• Operate EPS gridder to place foam on hot wires and create grid patterns for slurry.
• Run multiple CNC machines and perform cycle counts of raw materials.

Requirements

• Experience in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
• Proactive self‑starter with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Physical demands include frequent standing, bending, reaching, repetitive motions, and occasional typing, driving, walking, and sitting.
