Construction Inspector

Description

• Perform all phases of field assignments, interpreting specifications and drawings for contractors and owners.
• Conduct field inspection, testing, sampling, equipment maintenance, and generate comprehensive field reports.
• Record daily construction quantities and assist in reviewing payment requests.
• Communicate design changes and project updates with all stakeholders.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment as required.
• Uphold public health, safety requirements, and DLZ’s Health and Safety Plan.

Requirements

• Use iPad or laptop to complete daily reports and document construction activities.
• High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, geology, or related field preferred.
• Experience inspecting PennDOT, ODOT, Turnpike, municipal, or sewer authority projects.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I, NICET Level II Highway Construction Inspection, NECEPT Bituminous/Concrete Field Technician, EIT, NASSCO.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record and willingness to travel moderately.
• Ability to climb, reach, balance on uneven surfaces and stand for long periods in the field.
• Resume must include detailed work history, certification numbers, and expiration dates.
