As a Kitchen Shop Engineer, you will be responsible for administering repairs and improvements to an already great property. Your attention to detail and ability to contribute to a diverse team will ensure the functionality of our resort and the safety and satisfaction of every guest.
- Perform preventative maintenance of all kitchen equipment related to water features.
- Troubleshoot complex maintenance problems and develop creative solutions.
- Maintain all refrigeration equipment in each restaurant and bar.
- Repair Garland, Blodgett, Cleveland, and other brands of cooking equipment.
- Repair Hobart, Moyer Diebel, Jackson, Stero, Insinger, and Glas Tender warewash equipment.
- Repair Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Kold Draft, and Scotsman ice machines.
- Establish schedules for repairs and preventative maintenance and ensure adherence.
- Handle independent work responsibilities with good judgment.
- Interface with other departments.
- Use drain‑clearing equipment when required.
- Operate scissor and boom lifts and climb ladders to access elevated areas and equipment.
- Maintain knowledge of safety procedures for lock‑out/tag‑out of all stored energy sources.
- Maintain uniform control systems.
- Ensure accurate record keeping.
- Provide a current Nevada Motor Vehicle Report every six months and notify the department leader of any driver’s license changes immediately.

Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The role requires regular standing, frequent reaching, talking, and hearing, as well as the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform various physical movements such as bending, twisting, and climbing in confined spaces. Vision requirements include close and peripheral vision.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years experience with commercial kitchen equipment repair, refrigeration, plumbing, commercial ware‑washing equipment, and ice machines.
- Experience repairing Hobart, Moyer Diebel, Jackson, Stero, Insinger, and Glas Tender warewash equipment.
- Experience repairing Manitowoc, Hoshizaki, Kold Draft, and Scotsman ice machines.
- General knowledge and comfort with plumbing, hand tools, welding, soldering, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
- Beginner skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Must maintain a clean DMV record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries from team members and guests.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to deal effectively with guests, management, team members, and external contacts.
- Excellent organizational skills; able to function under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment.
