What you would be doing

Setup and pickup of traffic counters and video cameras for traffic data collection
Conduct safety analysis tasks for transportation and highway planning and design projects
Assist with design plans by utilizing CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD and/or Microstation) that support highway and municipal designs of traffic signals, signing and striping, and technology systems
Utilize GIS tools to complete data summary graphics and analysis
Conduct technical traffic operations analysis using traffic modeling programs
Assist traffic engineering staff as able and qualified with all variety of multimodal traffic engineering tasks including analysis, design, and study reports
Participate in regular staff meetings and training opportunities, support a variety of project managers and practices with critical data and information for their projects

Ability to work approximately 8 hours or more per week during the school year and potential to work additional hours during school breaks
Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Ability to carry up to 25 pounds of equipment
Ability to travel as needed for field reviews, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
Strong writing skills
