The Role

Overview

Support EHS projects handling hazardous materials, indoor air, water, radon, and industrial hygiene.

Tasks

-Interpretation of laboratory sample results and compare to applicable legislation -Developing and maintaining relationships with Clients and sub-consultants/sub-contractors. -Work during and outside of normal business hours, including some weekends and evenings, to meet project commitments. Travel for extended periods of time (1 to 2 weeks at a time). -Organizing and providing support during meetings involving participation from stakeholders and demonstrated experience summarizing and presenting results with an emphasis on written communication. -Supporting multi-disciplinary EHS projects across a variety of sectors. Specific consulting services provided may include the following depending on the candidates’ interests and expertise: Identification and Management of Hazardous Materials Indoor Environmental Quality Assessment Services Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Services Radon Measurement and/or Mitigation Services Drinking Water Sampling Interpretation of laboratory sample results and compare to applicable legislation Preparation of Technical Reports Project Management and Coordination of Hazardous Material / Microbial Contamination Remediation Work -Identification and Management of Hazardous Materials -Preparation of Technical Reports -Project and proposal completion, including project financial management, schedules, deliverables, and working as part of multi-disciplinary teams. -Enhance the world around you – from the environment to the highways, to the buildings and the terrain, WSP is the fabric of Canada. -Project Management and Coordination of Hazardous Material / Microbial Contamination Remediation Work

What You Bring

-Familiarity with provincial and federal Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental legislation. -Post-secondary degree or diploma in occupational or environmental health and safety, environmental sciences, biology, building sciences, architecture, engineering, or related field. -Access to a vehicle, a clean driver’s abstract, and eligibility for Federal Security Clearance. -Your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and willingness to continuously learn and apply your tech-savvy skills. -Your initiative to apply knowledge and suggest practical technical solutions to critical challenges in the field. -Professional designation (EP, CET, AScT, CRSP, CIH, ROH, ROHT, PMP) considered an asset. -Familiarity with building systems (mechanical, electrical, structural, etc.) considered an asset. -Written and oral communication both within multi-disciplinary teams and with Clients. -Computer skills for data management and manipulation including strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products. -Working knowledge of occupational hygiene practices.
