The Technical Data Protection & Access Governance Specialist will manage access governance and document protection across Engineering, R&D, and TrafoSchool, ensuring sensitive content is classified, protected, and accessible only to authorized users while maintaining auditability and compliance with internal standards.
Key responsibilities include defining and maintaining access rules across platforms such as xECM, HEP, OneView and LMS, as well as approving or denying access requests and handling onboarding and off‑boarding of users and shared accounts. The specialist will also conduct periodic access reviews, keep audit‑ready records, and provide access status reports that align with IT and cybersecurity policies.
Document‑level protection will be implemented using RMS/AIP for sensitive reports, training materials and business‑unit standards, coupled with mandatory classification and pre‑publication checklists. The role leads validation and testing of protection measures and serves as the operational lead and project manager for the business‑wide document governance initiative, coordinating inventory and mapping of document types, owners, systems and access controls.
Platform usage principles, such as PLM for work‑in‑progress, xECM for lifecycle management, and HEP for distribution, will be defined and published. The specialist will drive pilot implementations, measure key performance indicators, and transition successful pilots to business‑as‑usual governance while facilitating stakeholder alignment and reporting to sponsors.
External supplier access will be managed under defined standards, ensuring supplier accounts are properly provisioned, monitored, and coordinated with SCM and Master Data teams. Audit processes will be designed and executed to monitor document access and usage, tracking metrics such as RMS coverage, permission reductions and classification completeness, and reporting findings for continuous improvement.
The role requires compliance with all applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines, and embodies Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for actions and caring for colleagues and the business.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in information security, engineering, IT systems or a related field, and possess at least five years of experience in access governance, document protection or IT compliance. Strong knowledge of enterprise platforms (xECM, HEP, PLM, SharePoint, RMS/AIP), audit processes, access control models and classification frameworks is essential.
Additional expectations include the ability to translate technical risks into clear business actions, strong project leadership and stakeholder coordination skills, detail‑oriented governance documentation, comfort working in matrixed global environments, and proficiency in spoken and written English. Hitachi Energy is committed to accessibility and offers reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities.
