Webber - Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Heavy Civil

Description

The position provides field support for heavy construction equipment in the Houston area, delivering maintenance, repair and troubleshooting services to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

• Operate a truck and travel to job sites to service heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, track hoes and trucks.
• Inspect, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and power‑train systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and welding as needed.
• Operate a crane for equipment maintenance and repair tasks.
• Complete service documentation, read technical manuals and fill out paperwork promptly.
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area.
• Use hand and power tools, diagnostic devices and adhere to safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, supervisors and equipment operators.

Requirements

Success in this role requires a strong safety mindset, effective communication with vendors and crew, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to company policies.

• Minimum five years experience as a heavy‑equipment/diesel mechanic, preferably in the field.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and personal hand tools.
• Ability to lift/move up to 70 lb and perform physically demanding activities (climbing, kneeling, twisting).
• Proficiency in construction math and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and diagrams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to document findings accurately.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
