You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with BlueWave’s engineering, project execution, capital markets, IT, and compliance teams to ensure that every system in our operating fleet is performing optimally and sustainably.
The Technical Asset Manager will take a hands-on approach to monitoring system performance, managing O&M providers, enforcing warranties, and leading issue resolution across our distributed generation (DG)-scale projects. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and operational expertise, complemented by a solid understanding of financial and contractual drivers that influence asset value.
- Warranty & Equipment Management: Oversee warranty enforcement, spare parts tracking, and preventive maintenance schedules for major components (inverters, transformers, batteries).
- Lead Technical Oversight: Monitor system performance through SCADA and asset management platforms, diagnose underperformance, and lead root-cause analysis with O&M partners and engineers.
- Transition & Data Integrity: Lead technical handover from construction to operations, validating commissioning data, documentation, telemetry, and control systems.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and regulatory standards; oversee incident reporting and corrective action plans.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Preconstruction, and Asset Management team members to share lessons learned, inform design improvements, and enhance long-term reliability.
- Operational Excellence: Own the technical and operational health of assigned assets ensuring availability, uptime, and production meet or exceed targets.
- Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement processes to improve asset monitoring, data analytics, and reporting capabilities as BlueWave’s operating fleet scales.
- Budget & P&L Oversight: Support budget creation and expense management, ensuring operational decisions align with financial performance and lifecycle cost objectives.
- O&M and Vendor Management: Develop and manage O&M strategy - issue RFPs, negotiate service agreements, track KPIs, and drive accountability among third-party service providers.
- Reporting & Insights: Deliver clear, data-driven reporting on performance metrics, operational issues, and asset optimization strategies to internal and external stakeholders.

- Experience in a distributed generation IPP environment, managing multiple small-to-medium scale projects concurrently.
- Strong data analysis skills; ability to interpret performance data and translate into actionable solutions.
- Solid understanding of electrical and mechanical system components, interconnection, and grid compliance requirements.
- Existing network of O&M vendors and field service providers in the solar and storage space.
- Demonstrated experience managing O&M contracts, site technicians, and vendor relationships.
- Understanding of ISO/RTO operations and energy market interfaces.
- Proven ability to manage technical performance and reliability across multiple operating sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy preferred) or related technical field.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools, digital twins, or other advanced asset management technologies.
- 7+ years in asset management, O&M, field engineering, or operations for power generation assets (solar, storage, or DG-scale strongly preferred).
- Willingness to travel 25-30% to visit project sites.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Financial literacy and experience managing budgets or P&L for operating assets.
- Hands-on familiarity with SCADA, DAS, and asset management platforms (e.g., PowerFactors, PowerTrack, BluePoint, or Maximo).
- Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) operations and performance optimization.

The anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 - $150,000 per year + bonus.
