Designer III - Environmental and Graphic Design

Description

• Coordinates effectively with partners and consultants.
• Reviews work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual.
• Production Artistry including material research, dimensioning/detailing, specifications, sampling, production art files, RFI responses, construction coordination, preparation of production files
• Participates in site analysis, including survey of existing conditions and field measurements.
• Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
• Develops plan diagrams, sections, and elevations.
• Executes design plans, design strategy, storytelling, color plans, and schedules.
• Provides design support to team members and supports the growth of others.
• Implements a creative approach to complete tasks and responsibilities on projects, within the scope of schedule and budget, in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
• Keeps open communication within team and with designated team leader.
• Takes increasing ownership on tasks within project teams and studio activities.
• Develops, prepares, and coordinates presentation materials and models and leads client presentations.
• Influences and manipulates design elements and applies principles of design such as form, scale, color, texture, pattern, balance, and proportion.

Requirements

• Environmental Graphic Design knowledge including research capabilities, brand strategy, storytelling, copywriting, art direction, identity design, graphic design conceptualization, PSD/AI scripts and actions, vendor selection, microsite design, preparation, lead, recap, and analyzation ofvisioning sessions
• Functional knowledge of 2D/3D production software
• ntermediate Revit
• Presentation tools such as InDesign and Photoshop Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty, BREEAM AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD, ILFI Living Future Accreditation or RELi AP.
• Interior Architecture knowledge including building codes, site analysis, preliminary design studies, contract documents, field measurements, life safety requirements, specifications, construction contract administration, design conceptualization, hand sketching, furniture specifications, including research, selection, and budget analysis
• Physical modeling tools such as 3D Printing and Laser cutting
• Exhibits advanced understanding of branding concepts (including interior architecture, print graphics, environmental graphics, signage and way finding) and their integration in the built environment.
• Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design.
• A degree in interior design, architecture, graphic design, or other related discipline is required
• LEED GA within 6 months of hire
• Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
• Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite
• Illustrator CAD plug-in
