Senior Civil Engineer

Description

As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients.

• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of collaboration and growth.
• Conduct site visits and inspections as needed, ensuring quality and safety.
• Supervising the development and authenticating, Civil designs, calculations, reports and dam safety-related studies and reports.
• Collaborate across teams to develop project strategies and foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Lead and oversee various Civil, Geotechnical and Environmental engineering designs and studies.
• Deliver front-end, preliminary and detailed engineering designs – from stormwater management/reservoirs to large earthen dams, site grading, and underground piping.
• Support cost estimates, schedules, and proposals while communicating results effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

We can consider candidates across all our Canadian offices, including Vancouver, Calgary, and Saskatoon.

• Legally able to work in Canada.
• Knowledge of key North American industrial sectors, such as mining or oil and gas an asset.
• Experience within the Mining sector would be considered an asset.
• Experience with the preparation of clear and comprehensive engineering design reports, construction execution plans, technical notes and client presentations.
• 12+ years of consulting or industry, with a focus on, civil earthworks engineering, and exposure to geotechnical analysis/reporting.
• Experience with Civil earthworks engineering designs related to reservoirs, earthen structures, small and large earthen dams, surface water management, roadways, underground piping, and site grading.
• Registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
• Experience with stormwater and sanitary sewer designs, surface water management designs and modelling.
• Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Excellent English communication skills, and experience in preparing and reviewing technical reports.
• Proven leadership, business development and client communication skills.
• Experience with geotechnical design and analysis, using slope stability software, is an asset.
• Proven leadership, and excellent written/verbal communication.
